Our exchange students have arrived. They are such a pleasure to have in our home. So different, but yet both with good hearts, smart minds and good intentions. The kids love them and we are really happy to share with them and learn as well.
MiMi, who is from Vietnam is going to be a senior in high school. She is studying to be a doctor...and I know she will be a great doctor. She comes from a very supportive family and has one older sister who is studying in the US as well. She has fit right along with our family already and we hope for more than the best while she is here in America. She is eager to learn about American lifestyles our country. We love it that she will get to experience Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the kids birthdays, New Years, Yamaya's birth, Easter, and so forth. She has already experienced so many new things just in this short time. My favorite is she had her first taste of apple juice here in our home! Such a treat.
Curly...is from Denmark. She is going to be a sophmore in high school this year. She has a great family who was trusting enough to allow her to stay with us. She has an older sister and younger brother who misses her very much. She is fun to be around, talk with and we love learning about her country as well as sharing with her. Magus calls her "beautiful" because she shines like an angel. She is our long winged-traveler, in which I know she will go far. She has traveled many places and Cali is just another experience that is going to make her an even stronger woman. In Denmark they do celebrate most of our holidays, but this will be her full-on American experience. We hope that her expectations will be met and that she will enjoy every moment that she shares with us.
